“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28
Morning Bliss
One of my favorite things to do to spend time with God is sit outside in the early morning during the spring and summer with a cup of coffee and my prayer journal. I think of it as having coffee with my best friend. There is no better way to start the day, I close my eyes and I can hear the birds beautiful songs. I can feel the warmth of the sun on my cheeks. I immediately feel a sense of peace and closeness with the Lord. It’s the perfect way to clear my mind before the busy day ahead of me.
Checking In
As busy as the days get, its important to try and keep this routine up throughout the day. Every day in the afternoon, I typically start to feel the pressures of a busy life. The phone constantly buzzing with questions and demands, my beautiful young children who always need mommy for different things in the day, upkeep of a house that always seems to be in disarray. I feel like my mind is moving a million miles a minute. Sometimes I feel like I am going to explode! Anytime this happens and I take the time to go outside alone, take a deep breath, and ask the Lord to give me peace, I am able to finish my tasks in an efficient and effective way. It’s amazing, how just one minute with the Lord completely changes our mind, attitude, and day around.
Precious Time
God is everywhere. God does not hide from us but we must carve out precious time for him. Time to breath him in and out. Time to soak in his peace. To feel and experience his love. He just asks us for our time. Can you carve out time throughout your day to sit with God?
